Women Authors, Artists, and Translators from the Heart of Europe

An inspiring evening celebrating the creativity, talent, and voices of remarkable women from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This panel discussion will introduce a diverse group of authors, illustrators, translators, and designers whose work spans literature, visual art, publishing, and education.

LUCIE HLAVINKOVÁ

HANKA JELÍNKOVÁ

This year's patron of the festival. Author of historical novels for adults. Lucie's titles include Svátek hada, Pravda nebyla k dostání, Kdo šije u Podolské, Sestry Foxovy, and Apatykář.

Writer, translator, and owner of the publishing house Naše kniha. She helps translating the plays of the Jára Cimrman Theatre into English.

VENDULA HEGEROVÁ

TEREZA ŘÍČANOVÁ

​Children’s book illustrator and author of materials for speech therapy and developing writing and fine motor skills. She is the founder of Obchůdek Vendula.

Writer and illustrator. Her works for adults include Pozdravy ze Snové země and Stosní inspired by her dreams. She is also an artist focusing on painting. ​

VANDA GÁBRIŠOVÁ

Graphic and product designer and founder and creative director at Bublina magazine for children.  ​
