Sailor Stamp
Ella Nahodilova, Age 8 Watercolour and collage on card This is based on the work of Josef Čapek. He was a Czech artist, who painted many pictures and illustrated many children's books. This picture is a Czechoslovak stamp as he lived a long time ago when Czechoslovakia was still a country. The picture is a collage and a painting as Čapek used to draw. It shows a sailor at sea. |
The Fox Meets the Moon and the Star
Martin Hrůša, Age 5 Oil pastels and crayons I know foxes are not very welcome in the cities but I like them anyway. I think they are friends with the night sky. They speak the same language which we human beings can’t understand. I would like to know what they tell each other. |
Midnight Village
Libby, Year 4 Cardboard, black paint, pastels This artwork is a plastic picture of a village at midnight made of cardboard. All houses as well as windows and doors are made of stacked cardboard giving the picture more depth. The surface of the picture was first covered by black colour and then coloured by pastel colours. The sky above the village is decorated by colourful buttons symbolising stars in the midnight sky. The author of the picture is an autistic child expressing her feelings and her view of the world through art. |
